A subluxation occurs when 1 or more bones of the spine move out of position. This creates pressure or irritation on the nerves, then causing the nerves to malfunction. It can also interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.
Your nervous system controls all the functions of the body. So, if the signals traveling through the system can’t get where they need to go, your body won’t function at 100%.
Subluxations can be caused by:
- Injuries, like those from falls or car accidents
- Strenuous exercise
- Repetitive motion
- Drugs and alcohol
- Poor nutrition
- Genetic defects
