Prior to receiving chiropractic care, Martin was eating, sleeping, or screaming!
From the day he was born, gas hurt him badly. He had difficulty passing the gas, too. I always had to rock him or bounce him or pat him to help him calm down. Because of all the pain he was in, he also never had a sound sleep. He was basically miserable for his first 8 weeks of life.
I took him to his pediatrician, who prescribed Zantac. It seemed like Martin was getting better, but then he just got worse again. The pediatrician then prescribed a stronger medicine, and again, it seemed like Martin was getting better. Then, all of the sudden, his gas was worse than ever. By this point, we were all very stressed and distraught and sleep-deprived.
I decided to take him off the meds and look for a chiropractor. After even the first visit with Dr. McIntosh, Martin responded well. Since receiving more treatments, Martin has gotten better and better. He still has gas but not nearly as much, and he is only troubled by it once a day. The rest of the time, he is a normal baby and only cries when he is tired or hungry.
After seeing Dr. McIntosh 7 times, Martin now focuses wonderfully and smiles happily. He also takes regular naps during the day. His nighttime sleep has gotten much better, too. Initially, he would wake up 40 minutes after going to sleep, fussing and needing help. He would also wake up every 3 hours for feeding. He now sleeps soundly for a good 7 hours without fussing.
This has made our home a much happier place. Most importantly, Martin is calm and happy and able to grow and learn like a normal baby should.
Thanks! -Ruth W.
I tore the cartilage in my left knee. For the first time in my life, I felt old. I had problems walking, running, and gardening. I had to do something.
I went to a medical doctor who specializes in knees. After several x-rays and office visits, he told me the only way I could get relief was with knee surgery. I felt that there had to be another option.
As fate would have it, I met Dr. McIntosh and found that she has helped many patients with sports-related injuries. I was relieved to find that other option.
After 5 months of treatment with Dr. McIntosh, I’m fully functioning and back doing the things I love such as gardening, walking, participating in running events, and generally being very active again. Thanks Dr. McIntosh!
You gave me my life back! Never stop doing what you do best — helping others.
I experienced an injury during the semi finals of the Super Senior Sectional Tennis Tournament. I want to tell you how much I appreciate the visit we had.
I was able to finish the match where I injured my back, but wasn’t sure I could continue. You invited me to see what you could do about my injury. You took the time to give me an adjustment at the tennis center.
After the adjustment, I not only felt better, but was able to play in the next match — the national finals. Your treatment allowed me to continue in a chance of a lifetime: playing in the finals of a national tournament and even winning the match. I was able to play up to my normal level and felt no pain or discomfort, thanks to you.
As I remember this event, your efforts and kindness will always be there.
Thank You -Terry N.
Low Back Pain
In 2002, I incurred an almost crippling disability while serving in the U.S. Air Force.
For the next 5 years, I fulfilled my duties to my military contract being barely able to walk. Two bulging discs in my spine were pinching my sciatic nerves, and the compression left me with a scoliosis-like bend in my lower spine. As a result, my hips were rotated on an axis, leaving my left leg shorter than my right. Standing upright for an extended period of time was painful, and exercise was excruciating.
I had seen numerous military chiropractors using “one size fits all” rehabilitation programs, only to leave feeling worse than before. Countless thousands were spent on epidural injections which, while helpful, only masked the condition.
At the end of my rope, I decided to see a neurosurgeon. I was given a horrific depiction of a potential surgery in percentages: 5% chance I would leave a brand new man, 5% chance that I would be unchanged and a 90% chance that the surgery would put me in a wheelchair paralyzed for the rest of my days.
In early 2008, I came to see Dr. McIntosh. I was hesitant, but my fears dissolved upon meeting her. My first treatment was nothing like my past treatments. Instead of jumping in and trying what other chiropractors had in the past, her attention to detail and bedside manner were second to none! She took the time to take x-rays, do research and confirm my EXACT condition before she ever tried ANY kind of treatment! It took some time, but after a few months, I was walking without pain, climbing stairs, ladders — anything I could find! I started losing the weight I had accumulated from years of a forced sedentary lifestyle.
While my condition is unfortunately permanent, I now live almost completely pain-free, thanks to Dr. McIntosh. I have weekly treatments, which keep me mobile, and I’ve even started exercising again, which includes jogging and lifting weights.
I would recommend anyone, with any level of pain, discomfort, or even disability, to see Dr. Mac. I wish I had seen her in 2002. I’d probably still be in the military now if I had. I appreciate everything she has done for me and can’t imagine where I’d be without her. Thank you so very much Dr. McIntosh!!
Thanks! -Joel I.
Before I came to Dr. McIntosh, I could barely walk. Any physical activity strained my feet so much that the pain and cramping outweighed any desire to work out. Even standing for 2 hours hurt. Not only that, but my back and neck ached constantly and to such a degree that I could have gone to a hospital at any given time.
I work at a desk, so I assumed neck and back pain was normal — everyone had it and everyone put up with it. I also thought the foot pain was irreversible — I would have to grow accustomed to crooked walking, taping my feet, and missing out on dancing at weddings for the rest of my life. Did I mention that I am 22 years old?
Well, it came to a breaking point and I knew that even if no one could help, I might as well ask for help. Now I can run, bike and walk without any trouble. I suffer much less pain and am able to do things with my peers and my family — like joining a kickball team and playing tennis! Dr. McIntosh was my own personal miracle-worker!
Thanks! -Macey S.
Dr. Lynn McIntosh, owner of Kansas City Chiropractic, is not only a very professional and skilled chiropractor, but she listens and administers treatment with expertise and kindness.
I have rheumatoid arthritis, which causes debilitating pain, despite traditional medical treatment. After my son gave me a gift certificate for acupuncture, I went with skepticism — if traditional medicine couldn’t help me, why would acupuncture? I was shocked when, after the third treatment, I felt better than I had in years!
But, the doubt continued, as did the treatments. I could not understand how such a simple, painless treatment could help so much. I informed my rheumatologist about the acupuncture and chiropractic treatments I had just started. He was very pleased to hear how successful it was for me and encouraged the treatments.
Like many things in life, 1 treatment may not do the trick, but I found that in conjunction with traditional medicine, I can live and enjoy freedom from the pain that was smothering my life. Skepticism GONE! Dr. McIntosh is a gift that my son doesn’t realize changed my life.
Thanks! -Debbie S.
Thank you for the help I received over the past 2 months. Before seeing you for chiropractic care, I was experiencing a problem with my ankle and its range of motion. It was about to lock up on me while I was at the gym, and sometimes walking at a faster gait proved challenging. I also had a stiff and sore neck. As I started to get help, I thought, “Well good, these areas are going to feel better.”
Much to my surprise, there has been much more than an ankle now with motion range and no pain, as well as a less-stiff neck. I walk better. I am more aware of my posture. Stretching out is easier. Exercising is less strenuous. My sinuses started to drain (WOW!). Simply put, I FEEL BETTER throughout my body and mind.
Thank you for your help and thank you for understanding when I was initially reluctant to come in and try a new approach to my overall health.
Thanks! -Patricia “PJ” J.
I’ve suffered from migraines for almost 25 years. It affects my life greatly — sometimes daily. The pain is so severe that I don’t leave my house for a day or 2 at a time. I have these migraines at least once a week, usually twice a week. I have tried many meds for preventative care but none are very helpful. Most have terrible side effects.
A couple of weeks ago, I had my first visit with Dr. McIntosh. I was experiencing my usual migraine and body pain down the whole left side of my body. After receiving my first adjustment and acupuncture, my body pain subsided — as did my migraine. I have never received any type of medical care that produced that kind of immediate pain relief.
I have been continuing my visits to Dr. McIntosh. I’ve had 5 more adjustments since then with acupuncture. My headaches haven’t been as severe as usual and my body pain is much improved. The constant pain behind my left eye is gone now.
I don’t dread waking up like I used to. I look forward to my continued recovery and good health. I believe I have finally found the answer after 25 years of migraine pain.
Thanks! -Paula H
Athletic Performance Enhancement
Thank you for your treatment over the past 2 weeks. In only 2 weeks, I’m pain-free!
As an active guy wanting to do a triathlon in the spring, I can be pretty hard on my body. Thanks to training and the major spine-fusion surgery I had in college, my body can be finicky. I’ve been told by other doctors that the pain won’t go away and it’s something I have to “live with.”
Since seeing you, my body feels great and my training is almost 100% pain-free. No more cramped hip flexors after long bike sessions or shooting pain from my hips after a run. No other treatments have had the success that your sessions have had.
Thanks! -Bill W.
I had a stress fracture in my left foot and wore a boot for a few days. My left hip was hurting a lot. Dr. McIntosh did an adjustment that relieved the pain. An observer told me that she could see a big difference in my walking. I’m not in pain anymore.
Thanks! -Grace B.
Thank you for all of the relief you have given me for my headaches stemming from neck pain.
Not only have I seen improvement over the months I’ve been coming in, but on several occasions, I’ve stumbled into your office with a blinding headache and left with complete relief.
Treatment has enabled me to better perform my job and better enjoy my evening at home.
Thanks! -Connie W.
Low back pain
I came in to see Dr. McIntosh for lower-back pain that had me in the ER the night prior. Within 4 treatments, I’m walking, moving, and living without pain in 2 days. She took me from a 10 on the pain scale to a 0. Incredible.
Also, I told her of a “tennis elbow” injury from working at the computer. She made an adjustment and now I’m writing this testimony with no PAIN AT ALL. I’m a nurse and it’s important for me to work without pain. She is the best medication in town.
Thanks! -Brenda H., RN
Acupuncture Face Lift
Thank you for introducing me to facial acupuncture rejuvenation! I never knew that acupuncture could be used for my face. It really works!
I love the fact that there is no pain and it is a totally relaxing experience. I have noticed that my skin is smoother and tighter. My husband and daughter comment on how rested I look.
Thank you again. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It has given me a boost and I feel younger.
Thanks! -Carly K.
Acupuncture Face Lift
I have been so thrilled with the results of your acupuncture face lift! I have done several laser treatments, including the costly blue light treatment, and I had a better outcome with your acupuncture treatment.
I’ve noticed line reduction around my eyes, smoother skin around acne scarred areas, and my acne has even diminished. This treatment is worth the cost and easy because of no down time.
I feel more confident at work and in my social life.
Thanks! -Rachel S.
Dr. McIntosh is currently treating our 8-week-old daughter and has been doing so for the past 6 weeks. She has been instrumental in the treatment of our daughter’s clubfoot.
Dr. McIntosh was able to increase the range of motion in her foot and reduce the inflammation. So far, we’ve been able to avoid surgery and dramatically decrease the time spent in casting.
Many thanks to Dr. McIntosh both for decreasing the time spent in traditional treatment and for minimizing the discomfort associated with casting and surgery!
Thanks! -Gretta B.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Shortly before surgery was scheduled to relieve my carpal tunnel syndrome, a friend suggested I try chiropractic care with Dr. McIntosh. I had no idea that the pain, tingling, and lack of sensation in my right hand and arm could be treated by a chiropractor, but I was thrilled to learn that surgery wasn’t my only treatment option.
I began regular care with Dr. McIntosh and experienced relief within a few short weeks. As my treatment continued, it became clear that these changes were permanent and I would not need surgery!
Dr. McIntosh’s ongoing care has not only eliminated my need for surgery. Now, I have increased of range of motion in my neck, learned to walk and work with a healthier posture, recovered joint and muscle flexibility throughout my body, and been relieved of discomfort caused by initial signs of arthritis.
Thanks! -Judy 0.
Athletic Performance Enhancement
I am a competitive weightlifter and depend on my body to perform at the highest level. Recently, I had severe shoulder pain that limited my performance and kept me out of competition.
I had seen several other doctors, 2 of whom recommended surgery. I wasn’t willing to take that risk, so I sought 1 last opinion. I saw Dr. Lynn McIntosh at Kansas City Chiropractic and she immediately identified the problem.
Within 3 weeks, I was lifting with no pain and was finally able to achieve the kind of strength I needed to perform at my best. Recently, I benched a personal best weight of just over 600 pounds — 50 pounds over my previous best!
Thanks! -Kyle G.
